Training to Teach in the Age of AI

Human-Centred Teaching, Responsible AI and Professional Practice

Training to Teach in the Age of AI is a fully virtual professional-development programme for teachers, school leaders, trainers and other adult educators and education professionals. It combines established teaching principles with practical AI literacy, AI-assisted lesson design, responsible assessment, ethics, data protection, reflective practice, educator wellbeing and educational leadership.

Open scholarship project

The course forms part of the Itoro Abigeal Oyewobi US$80,000 Education Scholarship Project, an open, eligibility-based initiative designed to support up to 1,000 adult educators and education professionals through progressive cohorts. Registration opens in advance. The first testing cohort reserves up to 100 places for eligible participants and runs in January 2027, before school resumption. The wider rollout begins in February 2027, with further cohorts released progressively.

• Strengthen communication, learner engagement and inclusive teaching practice.
• Use AI responsibly for lesson planning and resource development.
• Verify AI outputs and address bias, privacy, copyright and academic-integrity risks.
• Design meaningful assessments and responsible feedback processes.
• Use reflective practice, wellbeing strategies and continuing professional development.
• Develop a professional portfolio and practical implementation plan.

Protected online delivery

Each approved participant receives an individual learning account and completes ten structured modules, knowledge checks, practical activities and a final professional portfolio inside the protected learning portal. The branded learner workbook is available from the learner dashboard as a downloadable course resource for the participant’s personal study and assessment journey.

Assessment and certification

• Diagnostic pre-course assessment: 10%
• Module knowledge checks: 20%
• Practical module activities: 30%
• Final professional portfolio: 30%
• Reflective post-course assessment: 10%

Participants must complete all ten modules, submit all required assessments and achieve an overall result of at least 70% before downloading their certificate.

Responsible AI and data privacy

Participants must not enter personal, confidential, safeguarding, medical or identifiable learner information into public AI tools. AI outputs must be checked for accuracy, bias, copyright, accessibility and local relevance. Professional judgement and accountability remain with the educator.

Fee and scholarship access

The standard programme fee is US$80. Approved scholarship participants receive fully funded access to the virtual training, assessments and digital certificate, subject to eligibility and cohort capacity.

Completion feedback

After completing the programme, learners will be invited to complete a voluntary course survey. They may also choose to send voluntary written feedback to enquiries@pinnacleinstituteltd.com. Feedback is optional and does not affect assessment, certification or future access.

Adult participation only: children are not enrolled in the programme and must not participate in associated surveys, interviews or research activities.
